“Trippier Is Really Liked” But It’ll Depend On The Price Demanded

|

The 2018/19 campaign isn’t yet finished but that doesn’t mean that the rumour mill loses any pace when it comes to building up towards silly season again, and plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans are discussing themselves what changes should be made to the squad as we again look to build on this season and show further improvement.

With a poor season by his own standards in many ways, Kieran Trippier has featured for a while in the departure speculation and in more recent times he’s been tentatively linked with both Manchester United and Italian side Napoli.

Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini appeared on Radio Kiss Kiss earlier this week (23/4 – 2.30) and he believes Napoli do have a genuine interest in the player, but it will be determined by the price.

“Trippier is really liked by Napoli but I don’t think Tottenham would let him go so easily, it’s a solution that Napoli are considering. He is a player who’s liked, but from here to say that Napoli will sign him seems exaggerated, this however means that they want to reinforce the team with international level profiles.”

An interest means little without a bid and the only commonality to reports so far is that manager Mauricio Pochettino would consider selling him and Serge Aurier and looking elsewhere for a solution.

We will have a price though if Poch is ready to shake things up at right back but then the debate becomes about a replacement, as whilst Kyle Walker-Peters can play back up, I’m not sure many would say the 22-year-old is ready just yet to step up in that manner.
